Jiaxi Liu

I am an undergraduate student majoring in Bioinformatics at the School of Life Sciences, Peking University, Beijing, P.R. China. My interests lie at the interface of biotechnology and AI for Science.

I currently pursue research on large language models with Prof. Tong Yang in PKU-DS-LAB. I also work on B-cell immunity at BIOPIC in Prof. Yunlong Cao's lab. Previously, I contributed to cancer network genomics projects in Fenglin Liu's lab.

My broader goal is to build computational and experimental tools for measuring, modeling, and engineering biological systems. This includes reading biological variation from omics and cohort-level data; modeling biological function with language models and other AI-driven approaches; and engineering biological processes through genome editing, molecular delivery, and system-level optimization. I also maintain HanaBio Archive, a biology competition archive site.

Jun 2026 🎉 Won Second Prize in the 34th Peking University "Challenge Cup" May Fourth Youth Science Award Competition for a project on genetic effect localization across the assisted reproduction cycle.

Biotechnologies for reading and writing biology
Omics, sequencing, genome engineering, molecular delivery, and experimental platforms for measuring and perturbing biological systems.
Language models for biology and science
Protein language models, biological foundation models, scientific LLMs, and AI systems that connect sequence, structure, function, and experiment.
Biological applications: genomics and cellular systems
Applications in cancer genomics, immune and cellular systems, and multi-omics interpretation.
Efficient AI systems for scientific computing
Operator optimization, efficient inference, and deployable large-model systems for computational biology and AI for Science.
